My name is Josh (surprise surprise). Here’s a bit about me. I’m a married man and I am privileged to have wed my best friend (mandatory “aww”) Valerie years ago, and we have two precious little ones.
For work, I’m sort of a pastor I provide spiritual support for people who are on their final stretch in the journey of life. I have worked in hospice for 7+ years and find great fulfillment in it. I have been a pastor in several church capacities too, but no ministry joy comes close to what I experience doing what I do here every single day.
I’m reeaaally ADHD, so I enjoy a number of things. I like to play video games, go hunting, creatively write, and produce video content for YouTube channels as well as Facebook – you can watch some of my stuff here (Recovering Hypocrite), here (Family Vlogs), or here (a single, but decently good car video) if you like. Oh, and chickens. I’ve also gotten into those plucky birds here recently. Because of all this (and much, much more), I am quite the different duck, and also rather difficult to live with (thank you, dearest wife of mine).
My my greatest passion however, is communicating the soul-saving gospel of Jesus Christ. I enjoy getting honest about my life’s experiences (good, bad, and ugly), and I strive to be an open book with those near me, and anybody else who will listen to me talk about how Jesus flip-turned my life upside-down after playing the church game for so many years.
In short, this page exists because, well, every once in a while, I want to write stuff. I appreciate you stopping by. Hang out and chill for a minute, and peruse the site.
Be sure to drop me a line too if you get a chance. I’d love that.
